Yamandu Costa’s CD, Tokyo Session, was the artist’s first CD recorded and released abroad. This new album released in Tokyo on October, 2006, was recorded having Yamandu Costa on guitar together with his trio partners, drummer Edú Ribeiro and bassist Thiago Espírito Santo. The result is a magnificent album containing ten tracks with superb sound quality.
On the repertory, the trio plays Yamandu Costa’s own original compositions such as Meiga, Maneco and El Negro del Blanco, besides versions for songs of Brazilian renowned composers such as Baden Powell, Tom Jobim, Luiz Bonfá, Garoto, Guinha Ramirez among others, performed with flair and vitality, ingenious improvisation and creativity.
